For the past fifteen years, collecting has been the subject of renewed interest and has been the subject of numerous studies, exhibitions and publications. In this context, the Signac collection is a real textbook case because it reflects the view and the biases of an artist particularly active on the art scene of his time. The collaboration with the Signac archives, which preserve, in addition to the artist's correspondence, the notebooks in which he recorded his purchases, makes it possible to establish a precise inventory of the paintings, drawings and prints that belonged to him.
