The Paris Opera offers Arop members the privilege of being able to observe the work of artists and the development of a production at different times: work sessions, pre-dress and dress rehearsal. The pre-dress rehearsal is the penultimate rehearsal before the first performance.
GEORGE BALANCHINE
This show devoted to Balanchine's art brings together three pure dance works from the choreographers first American period. Three ensemble choreographies in which bodies sing like the instruments in an orchestra. To music by Bach, Concerto Barocco fades in a series of forms addressed to the gaze like the decorative elements of a Baroque architecture. The Four Temperaments offer a visual counterpoint to Paul Hindemith's variations. Like the moods that experienced by humans, dance is fluid and unpredictable, mixing consonances and dissonances in a writing that is at once rigorous and free. In Serenade , Balanchine summons the Russian world of his master, Tchaikovsky, and the modern bodies of New York youth he discovers upon his arrival in the United States. As a snapshot of its time, the ballet also evokes with its romantic atmosphere The Sylphides of Fokine, another master beloved by Balanchine.
The pre-dress rehearsals are reserved in priority to the members who could not get spots at the same performance for a dress rehearsal.Download details of booking conditions and access conditions.
