Dress Black tie - long dress
Preceded by the magnificent Défilé du Ballet, this new edition of the Opening Gala brings together three works that highlight the Paris Opera’s two-fold dimension of tradition and creation. With Clouds Inside, the young dancer from NDT Tess Voelker creates her first choreography, a pas de deux like a childhood dream, the encounter of a man-metronome and a woman in the clouds. Damien Jalet proposes Brise‑lames, a piece for nine dancers to an original score by Koki Nakano, depicting waves of movement that spread as if by contagion. Finally, in Etudes Harald Lander presents the discipline of classical language, inviting the audience to follow the highly exacting daily work of the dancers.
