Take part in this charitable initiative, which will open the doors of the Opera to 1,000 children from social centres, the vast majority of whom will attend a performance of George Balanchine's Jewels at the Opéra Bastille.

Your participation will also support the aspirations of conservatoire students participating in the ADO programme (Apprentissage de l'Opéra - Orchestre de jeunes) and those of the École de Danse students.

During the interval and after the performance, refreshments** will be served in the Foyers to spectators attending the matinee.

FULLY TAX-DEDUCTIBLE: Your participation in the ‘Children's Dreams’ matinee will consist entirely of a donation and is therefore fully eligible for tax relief.

You have the option of making an additional donation to support the aspirations of young talents and artists in the making, whether they are conservatory students participating in the ADO programme (Apprentissage de l'Opéra - Orchestre de jeunes, launched by the Académie de l'Opéra national de Paris in September 2023) or students at the École de Danse de l'Opéra.

About the Dance School Demonstrations:

The aim of the Demonstrations is to give the public a glimpse of the rich choreographic vocabulary taught at the Dance School directed by Élisabeth Platel. Since their creation in 1977 by Claude Bessy, they have become a special event where the public can come and appreciate the richness of classical dance training at the Opera.

An important moment in the life of the School, the Demonstrations reveal the methods used to transmit knowledge derived from a long artistic tradition. Accompanied by their teachers and pianists, the students showcase the skills necessary to master the codes of the French school, a foundation which, once mastered, will open up great artistic freedom.

The Demonstrations also provide an overview of the other arts and choreographic styles that the students practise and which complement their training: contemporary dance, folklore, baroque dance, mime, character dance and musical expression.
