Raised to the status of myth by Shakespeare, the story of Romeo and Juliet had to await the 20th century before being embodied in a ballet thanks to the music of Sergei Prokofiev in 1935.

The Paris Opera Orchestra
A recording of Romeo and Juliet will be made on 13 and 16 April 2026, coproduced by the Opéra national de Paris and Pathé Live with the support of the Orange Foundation, sponsor of the Paris Opera's audiovisual broadcasts. The opera will be broadcast in cinemas worldwide from 15 November 2026 - Information & réservations.

The opera will be available for streaming at a later date on Paris Opera Play, the Paris Opera's streaming website.
