For more than three centuries, the Paris Opera Ballet has maintained a tradition of excellence built upon an unparalleled repertoire, while remaining connected with contemporary choreographic languages. It has been directed by Étoile dancer José Martinez since December 2022.

The Paris Opera Ballet also performs on national and international tours, and encourages choreographic creation by the Company’s artists.

Since 2021, the Opera has accelerated the development of a Ballet medical team and dedicated health center, in order to provide a multidisciplinary approach to healthcare for dancers at every stage of their careers, with a particular focus on physical and mental preparation as well as recuperation after physical exertion. This leads to fewer injuries and guarantees the quality of the dancers’ work environment.

The Opera will soon launch a “Junior Ballet of the Paris National Opera”, composed of 18 dancers for the 24/25 Season, recruited for 2 years. It responds to the desire to strengthen the professional integration of young dancers through a bridge between training at the Ballet School and integration into a ballet company.
